Motordyne ART Test Pipes + UpRev Tune

Sorry for not updating lately. Recently just had the Motordyne ART Pipes installed and got the UpRev tune today. Very satisfied with the results, although the Z did not gain as much power up top, it gained a ton down around 2500-3500 rpm due to running lean.

Before and After:

Baseline Dyno:

My baseline dyno resulted in 282.3 rwhp and 257.1 rwtq. It was about 99 degrees in the garage and pretty humid. Not too bad for just having Motordyne Shockwave TDX2 exhausts and Motordyne ART (Advanced Resonance Tuning) Test Pipes. First time dynoing my car also, so I don’t have a stock graph to base off of. But as far as I’ve seen, most other stock VQ35HR usually dyno around 255-260 rwhp and 240 rwtq.

Final results were around 285 rwhp and 260 rwtq.

Car was running lean, as you can see on the 1st pic. Dips around 2500-3000 and 3000-3500 range. Gained anywhere from 15-20 rwhp and 35-40 rwtq in the worst areas. Smooth power curve all the way up to redline now. Definitely can feel a difference than before as the lower range of the power curve is where most of the time is being spent in daily driving. Overall, still very satisfied.

CF Wrapping

My cousin and I Carbon Fiber wrapped our car’s interior.

The 350z is known to have easily scratched pieces where the window controls are. Since we are now selling decals and doing vinyl wrapping, we decided to wrap our interiors. Here are the results on my Z.

Motordyne Shockwave))) TDX2 Exhaust!

Haven’t really had time to update, but my most recent mod to the Z is the Motordyne Shockwave))) TDX2 exhaust! Paid $1485 for it. The sound is amazing ;o There’s really not many vids on Youtube of the exhaust on a VQ35HR motor.  I’ll probably make my own clip of the exhaust later next week. However, due to the recording method of using my smart phone, the sound will definitely not do justice.

Also, the VQ35HR is pretty different than the older DE, so there will be differences in sound (as most of the vids on Youtube are of the DE setup. The DE motor also can have more mods, such as the plenum spacers, MREV2, etc… which will lead to a diff sound overall. However, I did manage to find a vid of someone else’s VQ35HR 350z with the exhaust, but they do have more performance mods so the sound is definitely different. Here’s this guy’s clip ;o

Grand Touring Wheels!

Found a local seller in DFW with used Grand Touring / Track V2 wheels! I have been wanting a Grand Touring Z since I started my search for the right Z, but I just couldn’t find one in the area when I bought mine so ended up with my Touring. No real regrets, other than the lack of those Rays Engineering wheels and Brembos. At least this is one step closer ;) Tires are ordered too, but will have to wait till next week for them to be shipped to the installer, so no real pics until then.

For reference, tire sizes I ordered are:

245/40/18

275/35/19

Should look real good since I already have spacers :) Hopefully no rubbing or fender rolling necessary.
